Love & Horror on Venice Blvd.
In anticipation of the upcoming Universal x Hot Topic x Maxx242 collaboration releasing in Fall 2024, we headed to Venice Beach, California, to paint a mural for the special occasion.
The mural spans approximately 20’ x 6’ on the corner of S. Venice Blvd. and Ocean Ave. and features Maxx’s take on the classic horror characters Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, adorned in Day of the Dead motifs. The left wall highlights Bride of Frankenstein in a side profile stance—a unique angle of the Bride compared to the rest of the release. The right wall focuses on Frankie’s eternal longing for love, with the script 'Forever Mine' placed between him and the Bride.
