”We got approached by Nixon to take part in this collaboration, I’m always excited to work on any Metallica project. I started referencing songs and brainstorming ideas that may incorporate time pieces and time in general. I then remembered the song “Fade to Black” and played the “Ride the Lighting” album. The entire album is filled with songs and story of our last minutes. “Creeping Death” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls” really hit me as I started drawing this. I think it really came down to that, Father Time, the Reaper counting down our last minutes. Reminding us, all we have is time, it’s really the most valuable item we have."
